Applications are now open for a local school leaver to join my team as my Apprentice Caseworker.
Running for fifteen months from July 2022 to September 2023, this is a fantastic full-time paid opportunity for someone finishing college or school in Carshalton and Wallington to gain experience in politics. You will also have the opportunity to study for a Business Administrator Level 3 Qualification through the South Thames College Group.
An important role within my team, the successful apprentice will work closely with my constituency and Westminster team to support Carshalton and Wallington residents on a wide range of local and national issues, as well as gaining experience in social media and comms; diary and event management; speech writing; and much more.
Applications open today and will close on Friday 29th April. To apply, you should prepare a CV and Covering Letter on:
A) Why you would like to be my apprentice; and
B) What you feel are the key issues facing young people in Carshalton and Wallington today.
Please send these both to elliot.colburn.mp@parliament.uk with the subject line: [Your Name: Apprenticeship Application], by close of play on Friday 29th April.
This is a fantastic opportunity, whether you want to go onto university or into work, to learn more about the political world and the roles available to you. If you are considering university, you would be supported to defer your application until the following academic year- and would have the benefit of outstanding work experience for when you graduate.
I very much look forward to receiving your application, and please do not hesitate to get in touch with my office if you have any questions about the position.
